The E-Library System is a web-based application developed using Java Servlet and JSP to manage library operations digitally. Traditional library systems often rely on manual record keeping, which makes searching, issuing, and returning books slow and error-prone. This project provides an online platform where users can search books, view availability, issue or reserve books, and manage their library accounts.
The system also provides an admin module for adding, updating, and deleting book records, as well as managing members and issue history. By using Servlets for backend processing and JSP for dynamic web pages, the project demonstrates how Java web technologies can be used to build a real-world management application. It reduces paperwork, improves efficiency, and gives users easier access to knowledge resources.
In the existing system, libraries are usually managed manually or with limited software support.
The proposed E-Library System offers a digital and centralized solution.
This system is faster, more organized, and more convenient than the manual system.
Study existing library problems and collect requirements.
Design modules such as User Module, Book Module, Admin Module, and Transaction Module.
Create web pages using HTML, CSS, and JSP.
Use Java Servlets to process requests, validate data, and perform operations.
Connect the application with MySQL using JDBC.
Handle login sessions for users and admin.
Test registration, login, search, issue, return, and admin functions.
Deploy the system on Apache Tomcat.
