The Crop Yield Prediction System is a machine learning-based agricultural application designed to predict the expected yield of crops using historical agricultural, soil, weather, and farming data. The system analyzes factors such as crop type, cultivated area, rainfall, temperature, humidity, soil conditions, fertilizer usage, and other relevant parameters to estimate crop production. Machine learning models are trained on historical datasets to identify patterns and generate yield predictions. The system helps farmers and agricultural planners make informed decisions regarding crop selection, resource allocation, cultivation planning, and production management.
In the existing system, crop yield estimation is commonly performed using previous farming experience, historical production records, manual calculations, and general agricultural assumptions. Farmers and agricultural planners may also depend on expert opinions and regional statistics.
The proposed Crop Yield Prediction System uses machine learning algorithms to estimate crop yield based on agricultural, environmental, and field-related parameters. The user provides relevant information such as crop type, area, rainfall, temperature, soil conditions, fertilizer usage, and other available parameters.
The system processes the input data using a trained machine learning model and generates an estimated crop yield. Regression algorithms such as Linear Regression, Random Forest Regression, Decision Tree Regression, Gradient Boosting, or other suitable models can be evaluated to identify an effective prediction model.

Collect historical crop yield data containing crop type, cultivated area, weather conditions, soil information, fertilizer usage, and actual yield.
Clean the dataset by handling missing values, duplicate records, inconsistent data, and outliers where appropriate.
Analyze the relationship between crop yield and factors such as rainfall, temperature, area, fertilizer usage, and soil conditions.
Select the most relevant features that contribute to crop yield prediction.
Divide the dataset into training and testing datasets.
Train suitable machine learning regression algorithms using the training dataset.
Evaluate the models using metrics such as Mean Absolute Error (MAE), Mean Squared Error (MSE), Root Mean Squared Error (RMSE), and R² Score.
Select the best-performing model based on the evaluation results.
Integrate the trained model into a web or desktop application with a user-friendly interface.
Allow users to enter crop and environmental parameters and generate the predicted yield.
Display the estimated crop yield in an easy-to-understand format, such as tons/hectare or kilograms/hectare, depending on the dataset and application design.
