Forest fires cause severe damage to wildlife, vegetation, and the environment. This project proposes an intelligent forest-fire detection system using satellite imagery, environmental sensor data, and machine learning techniques. Satellite data helps identify changes in vegetation, temperature, and fire-related indicators, while sensors monitor environmental parameters such as temperature, humidity, and smoke. The collected data is analyzed to detect potential fire events and identify high-risk forest areas. An alert mechanism can notify forest authorities when suspicious conditions are detected, supporting faster response and improved forest protection.
Traditional forest-fire detection methods rely on manual observation, watchtowers, local reports, and standalone monitoring systems. These approaches may not provide continuous coverage of large forest areas, and fires can remain undetected in remote locations.
Disadvantages:
The proposed system combines satellite imagery with environmental sensor readings to detect possible forest fires and estimate fire risk. Machine learning models analyze historical and real-time data, while a monitoring dashboard displays fire indicators, risk levels, and detected events. When the system identifies suspicious conditions, it can generate alerts for further verification by forest authorities.
